Building Strength and Influence
NWCAPA will be a nonpartisan political action committee that will build influence within the existing political system. The nonpartisan nature of this PAC is important in order to be as inclusive as possible of the diverse needs and political viewpoints that exist in the Asian Pacific American community. As a nonpartisan PAC, NWCAPA also reinforces the principle that regardless of party affiliation, there are some common shared values that cut across different ethnic and socioeconomic lines among Asian Pacific Americans.
NWCAPA will support political candidates for elected federal office (U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, Presidency) who are committed to appointing Asian Pacific Americans to meaningful and visible policy-making and judicial positions primarily in the Pacific Northwest region. To receive NWCAPA’s support, candidates must demonstrate an active desire to nominate qualified and appropriate Asian Pacific Americans to fill such positions.
NWCAPA will focus its efforts at the national and regional level and when appropriate and will become active with issues of greatest impact on the Asian Pacific American community. NWCAPA will continually develop resources to grow and maintain a presence on the national political scene.
NWCAPA will support state, county and city level candidates and issues on a case-by-case basis.
